First Snow!

I'm so sorry I've been falling behind on my blogging. It seems as though life is flying by and I barely have time to breathe. This past weekend we went to Julian to celebrate X-mas with Danny's extended family for a few days. The few days flew by and we wanted to stay and enjoy each others company a little while longer. We were so thrilled to get snow on our last morning there and the kids had a ball. All the parents didn't sleep but it was worth it to see all the cousins running around and playing together (aka knocking each other down, eating a million sweets at a time- please note the pic of Landon trying to get into the donuts etc...)...
So, unfortunate as it is, I must go back to work on Monday. I have anxiety, sadness, and disbelief overshadowing me. I know these moments with my little ones are so limited as it is, to add in work is going to make things complicated.
Anyways, I had to add in this picture that Aunt Janet took of J and Nicole on their wedding day- they look so happy. Also, here's a video of Landon at SeaWorld a few weeks ago. He couldn't get enough of the pigeons. Too bad I waited so long to get out the camera- he lost most of his steam by this time but it's still funny to see him fall ;o). I know- it's mean but I love how it doesn't phase him in the least....love that kiddo.

Little Turkeys

We've been having so much fun lately hanging out with our friends and family for the holidays. We got to go to Nateal's 5th birthday party, we went to Aunt Maryann and Uncle Charlie's house for Thanksgiving, I went to NKTOB with Lindsay (yes, NKOTB- you read it right)- SO FUN by the way!!, Landon got to play and visit with Mia, and William and Cameron came over to visit us too....Lots has been keeping us busy to say the least. We just had Jordan's 4 month appt at the Dr and she weighed in at 13.5 lbs and measured 23 inches- about 25% in each category...not the heavy weight her brother was :O). Landon is keeping us laughing all the time- this weekend we were potty training (well, attempting to potty train)...one dookie in the undies and pee on the bathroom floor later....but we're making progress.

Wine, Babies, Pants and cuties!

I've been downloading pictures from our camera and realized we have so many saved and so little posted...SO...Kelly treated Faith and I to a wonderful night of wine and catching up for our b-days- THANKS KELLY!!
B-Ta was so sweet to come visit when she was in town and Jordan and Jillian got to meet for the first time- they just rolled around and gargled but we know they will be BFF's....
Then- randomly- Landon decided to wear his pants on his head- this kid is so strange...oh-how I love him- he always keeps me guessing :O)
Lastly but not leastly- the beautiful Darr sisters came to visit with their parents- you better watch out Gianna- Landon is on your tail!

Recent Shots...

Here are a few shots from the last few weeks. I'm still looking for a pic of Kelly and Micah to post from their wedding- the ones I took came out horribly...She was a beautiful bride (no surprise there!) and he was a handsome groom!! I'll post more later....

Farewell Uncle Gary- you are sorely missed....

This past May we lost our sweet Uncle Gary (forgive me for taking so long to post this, I wanted to wait for a few good pics of Uncle Gary before I did it). Just before he passed, we were lucky enough to get to see him when he and Aunt Janet came out to CA for an early visit (they always come at Christmas time but this year they decided to schedule an extra visit). The visit was wonderful and special- Landon got a chance to get to know Uncle Gary, play with Uncle Gary, and give Uncle Gary some good laughs. Uncle Gary paid us the highest compliment and said he was proud of us as parents and that we were/are raising a very happy boy. Uncle Gary was one of the most positive, pleasant personalities we knew- he always showered us with compliments. It's especially hard for me to say goodbye to Uncle Gary because he was so close to my mom and he always had a way of bringing me comfort in her absence. He helped give me strength in my mother's final days when I didn't think I could hold it together anymore- something I wish I would have thanked him for and something I will forever be grateful for. He often made me teary with his sweet references and memories of Layne...not to mention the fact that the two of them looked so much alike!

Aunt Janet, Aunt Maryann and Aunt Wendy put on a wonderful celebration in honor of Uncle Gary's life this past month. We toasted Uncle Gary while sharing sweet and funny stories from his life. It was bitter sweet of course- but we know he was there in spirit. I got to spend some time talking to John which was a treat since he and Abbie live in Colorado and it's very rare that we see each other. They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little boy, Finnegan Gareth Wells (as are all of us). Hang in there Abbie- you're almost there :O).

Cheers to Uncle Gary, we love and miss you....

This one's for you Jeanne!

Hi Jeanne~
Here's Jordan wearing the 'twin' outfit to the one you have for your little girl. I can't wait to see your daughter wearing it...you are so close, hope the end of the pregnancy is treating you well and that you are getting lots of rest.

First Smiles...

I forgot how much it melts a parent's heart when they get to see the rewarding first smiles from their baby....Jordan has been giving us little smile tidbits here and there but we just started getting BIG smiles along with a funny little cough like noise. Her Uncle J got some good smiles out of her when he was jogging her legs (see video above :O) ).
I had to post the picture of Landon with the Do Not Disturb sign around his neck because it is telling of his attitude lately..."no Mommy, don't sing...no Daddy- no hug...I'm not tired...I don't wanna go night night...". He found that somewhere and put it around his neck- I started laughing when he rounded the corner staring at me.
I included a one month picture of Jordan- she can't sit in the little rocker so I had to lay her in front of it- not a great pic but hopefully I'll get better as the months go on.
We got a special visit on Charger Sunday from Faith, Kelly, Donna and Bami and I had to get a picture of Bami working her Grandma magic on Jordan- Jordan was snoozing comfortably in a matter of minutes on her lap.
There's also a picture of Jordan giving me her signature furrowed brow- if you've met her you know it well....
Oh yeah- the best news- last night Jordan ate at 8:30pm and didn't wake again until 4am!!! We're getting there- so happy....I know it probably won't happen consistently for a while but I'll take it....
More to come later.

1 Month Old...

Wow, time certainly flies. We're having fun getting to know our little lady. We're not having fun during the middle of the night feedings but that goes without saying. I forgot how much 3 middle of the night wakings/feedings can take a toll on the human brain...Although, I know how quickly this stage of innocence will pass so I'm trying to take it all in- she's such a little sweetie. I can't get over how much she resembles her brother at the same age. She's starting to gain the lbs like her brother too.
Landon is obsessed with kissing and hugging his little sister. He's always asking "where did the baby go?" and he wants to have her near when we're reading bedtime stories. We can tell Landon is going through a bit of a transition - he's been great with Jordan but is testing us. I'm not going to lie, I am feeling a little overwhelmed with two little ones and it's only just begun- but I feel like we have a busy, warm home now which is something I've always wanted :O). I just have to accept that the house will not be spotless, things will be out of place and looking more 'used'- but there are more important things right?
Aunt Maryann and cousin Spencer came down to visit us a few weeks ago- they are so sweet to drive down for a few- hour visit and on top of that they brought us dinner too!
